GIWEP was founded in 1987, born out of the "alliance of theory and practice" of the Institute of Industrial Furnaces at RWTH Aachen University and Mannesmannröhren-Werke in Mülheim an der Ruhr. GIWEP was one of the first enterprises in the area of guidance systems and process control for industrial furnaces and today still leads the field in this sector.

The current discussion on how to achieve global climate and energy targets demands new strategies and concepts from politics and business. As a company, GIWEP is committed to this objective and with its product portfolio makes an active contribution to climate protection and especially to energy efficiency of thermal processing plants.

GIWEP's products: guidance systems for furnaces and process control systems are an important key to raising energy efficiency, lowering energy consumption, and ultimately to reducing CO2 emissions in thermal processing plants. In this way, operators of thermal processing plants acquire the status of so-called "green plant operators".
