GIWEP's History in Industrial Furnaces Arena

  • 1987 - GIWEP is registered as an engineering firm on 17th of December in the Commercial Register of Mülheim/ Ruhr. The shareholders at that time were Professor Günther Woelk of the Institute of Industrial Furnaces at RWTH Aachen University and Helmuth Klammer of Mannesmannröhren-Werke.

  • 1999 - GIWEP becomes part of the Group Hellingrath Gesellschaft für Prozessleittechnik in Mülheim/ Ruhr and Dr.-Ing. Friedhelm Meister joins Helge Heidemüller on the management board.

  • 2000 - Dr.-Ing. Hansjochen Oertel is appointed as Project Manager for guidance systems for furnaces and in 2002 as Managing Director.

  • 2007 - Dr.-Ing. Friedhelm Meister, Dr.-Ing. Hansjochen Oertel and Eike Erlach take over the GIWEP shares. GIWEP's main focus will be energy efficiency of industrial furnaces.

  • 2009 - GIWEP's headquarters move to Saarner Strasse 277 in Mülheim/ Ruhr and GIWEP, together with ZENIT GmbH, launches the EMo Network (Energy-optimised Modernisation of Industrial Furnaces).
